Kit has an exciting opportunity for a Senior UX/UI Designer with specialist experience in digital product design.  

A little about Kit  

Kit is an earning-and-learning money app helping young people do more. Our nifty nudges and kid-friendly explainers make money make sense. Kids learn best by in-the-moment experience, so we built Kit – our friendly sidekick. Kit has the smart money know-how to nurture positive behaviors through nifty nudges and bite-sized educational content.  

Kit is built by x15ventures and wholly owned by CommBank. We are a venture in scale-up mode, which means we’re endlessly improving and experimenting to deliver the best experience for young people and their parents and carers in Australia.

Where do you fit in?  
This opportunity is more than a job! Here you will apply your Human Centred Design, UX/UI design skills to create designs across the whole user experience for this new product.  You will use your creative flare to find solutions to complex challenges our target audience face every day and bring solutions to life through a simple, beautiful user interface.  

Working closely with our Head of Product, our UI Design Lead and other designers, you will seek to understand the product vision and opportunity areas, as well as the customer’s unmet needs to inform your designs.  

You will also work closely with product management, engineering, customer support and marketing to deliver a product that our target audience loves.  

With a key focus on meeting customer and business needs you will:  

• Apply Human-centred design principles to conduct research to help our teams design new features in the product  

• Create hi-fidelity designs in wireframes and prototypes to communicate the ideas, conduct testing and communicate requirements with developers  

• Be accountable for driving a culture of customer-obsession in Kit, through analysing qualitative feedback gathered across channels and sharing with the team, continuous discovery, team workshops. 

• Conduct customer research and capture behavioural insights and be a key input into our product design and strategy  

• Make informed design decisions based on customer feedback, customer support requests and analytics  

• Collaborate with product management, engineering, customer support and marketing to ensure designs can be implemented  

• Find creative and emotionally resonant solutions to our user’s challenges, always looking for ways to delight them  

• Use and contribute to an established design system or design language  

• On occasion, work with marketing on designs to support marketing efforts  

We are interested to hear from people who have  

• Significant commercial experience as a UX/UI designer, designing for digital products  

• Experience in customer research or service design 

• Experience working in a tech start-up, hypergrowth business or creative agency  

• Exceptional communication skills, able to articulate your vision in a compelling way  

• Strong problem solving skills and ability to think outside the box to find the right solution  

• Strong empathy and a genuine curiosity to understand what motivates people and drives behaviour
