The role

This is a remote-first contract role open to candidates in Canada.
As UX Lead at bold ai, you own the user experience across the digital products and platforms we build for our clients, from first discovery conversation to shipped interface.
One engagement might be an agentic finance management experience, another a training and skills development resource hub, the next something we haven't built yet. The thread across all of it is you: you run the research, you map the userflows, you design the front end. You turn strategic intelligence into clear direction working closely with clients, engineers, and product leads. 

What you'll do
  • Lead end-to-end discovery including stakeholder interviews, map current-state workflows, and define target-state user flows

  • Design the front-end experience for the products we build, from wireframes through high-fidelity UI, so every screen answers a real user question, whatever the product category

  • Partner directly with clients to turn business requirements into interface decisions they can defend to their own leadership

  • Work shoulder to shoulder with engineering to scope what ships this sprint and what's a deliberate v2

  • Align with product management on roadmap priorities and translate strategy into design specs that hold up under scrutiny

  • Build and maintain design systems that flex across distinct product experiences without losing consistency or craft

  • Present design rationale to clients and internal leadership with the same clarity you'd want if you were the one paying for it

  • Test assumptions with users early and often; kill ideas that don't hold up before they cost engineering time


What you bring
  • 8+ years designing digital products, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior role owning end-to-end UX

  • A portfolio that shows discovery-to-shipped work, not just polished mockups

  • Fluency in modern design and prototyping tools 

  • Working knowledge of front-end fundamentals (HTML/CSS, component-based design systems), enough to have real conversations with engineers, not just hand off files

  • A track record of presenting design decisions directly to clients or executive stakeholders and holding the room

  • Experience working in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment where priorities shift and the work still ships

  • Background working with enterprise clients in regulated or complex industries

Skills Required
