Senior Urban Designer
Dubai, UAE
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Urban Designer to join our team! In this role you will get to work on different types of urban development projects that will change the fabric of our cities.
What You'll Be Doing:
Coordinate the preparation of masterplanning and urban design packages across multiple design stages (Pre-Concept, Concept and Detailed Masterplan).
Perform and manage complex urban planning and design tasks including research, analysis and design development.
Coordinate with internal disciplines and external consultants to ensure integrated and coherent design outputs.
Review and ensure project outputs comply with local authority requirements, planning policies and international best practices.
Contribute to the preparation of high-quality masterplans, reports, presentations and visual materials.
Support project leads in client presentations and stakeholder engagement when required.
Delegate tasks to junior urban designers as appropriate and oversee the quality of design outputs produced by junior team members.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture or closely related field.
Minimum 7 years of professional experience in urban planning and urban design consultancy.
Strong understanding of urban design principles, planning frameworks and development processes.
Demonstrated experience producing large-scale masterplans, conceptual designs and illustrative layouts.
Proven ability to lead design packages or project workstreams.
Experience coordinating with multi-disciplinary design teams.
Creative thinking and in-depth understanding of current best practices.
Thorough understanding of local statutes, planning rules and development regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Master’s degree in Urban Planning or Architecture.
Professional accreditation such as AICP, RTPI, RIBA or equivalent.
