What You'll Do
- Serve on a team who partners with customers, helping them understand the full scope of information available and make informed decisions about their security program
- Tailor communication to the customer’s level of expertise, providing education and information to help them understand the bigger picture and make educated decisions
- Identify, scope, and manage ongoing customer incidents, develop remediation plans, and augment the customer’s security gaps with the necessary skills and resources to improve their security maturity
- Immerse yourself in the customer’s environment enough to immediately recognize evidence of potential threats
- Partner with the Detection Engineering, Intelligence, and Research teams to further investigate identified or emerging threats relevant to our customers
- Augment the automated detection of Red Canary’s technical stack with human driven hunting, to identify anomalous behaviors within customer environments, and use your hunting results to drive innovation of Red Canary’s detection capabilities
- Proactively mentor other Threat Hunters by sharing knowledge, skills and experiences and helping them to grow and develop their own skills
What You'll Bring
- 6+ years of working in the cyber security industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex technical topics and findings to others
- Ability to successfully engage within high-pressure environments and build trust with customers
- Technical proficiency in Information Security controls including system-level controls, network controls, and security operations, across Endpoint, Cloud, SaaS, and Identity
- Advanced knowledge of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) capabilities and one or more EDR products
- Foundational knowledge of Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) processes
- Ability to independently investigate and analyze alerts and threats for anomalous, suspicious, or malicious activity in a corporate environment and support remediation efforts
- Ability to independently and proactively search for potential cyber threats, including developing search criteria
- Desire to mentor others as they advance their technical skills
