What does a Senior test automation engineer do at Hogarth?
We are seeking for an experienced Senior test automation engineer who can work closely with the wider engineering team
to understand the test automation requirements, ensuring lines of communication always remain open. This person has to
work closely with QA Lead to implement the test automation capabilities as per QA strategy requirements, participating in
product design to ensure appropriate test strategy and coverage are applied to meet the product requirements, including
both functional and non-functional testing.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with the wider engineering team to understand the test automation requirements, ensuring lines of
communication always remain open. - Work with the QA Lead to implement the test automation capabilities as per QA strategy requirements.
- Participate in product design to ensure appropriate test strategy and coverage are applied to meet the product
requirements, including both functional and non-functional testing. - Apply the best automated and manual test approaches to execute the required level of testing.
- Capture and report test results and track bugsSetting up and maintaining test environments in the Cloud
- Run the required automated tests and perform additional manual exploratory testing checks where necessary.
- Take on leadership responsibility in the design and architecture of test automation frameworks using JavaScript.
- Maintain and extend the existing test automation set up and write new automated tests and update the existing tests as the product evolves.
Building robust, scalable, and high-quality test automation solutions for functional, non-functional and regression testing
which increases productivity. - Promote best practices for using CI and SDLC tools and support development teams with the adoption of tools for CI and test automation
- Drive increased test automation coverage and reporting in all areas of the product.
Requirements
- Total Years of Experience: 5 – 8 Years
- Solid understanding of QA principles and methodologies
- Experience with different functional and non-functional testing types
- Proven track record of building test automation frameworks for different types of testing
- Test automation experience using Cypress/JavaScript (other languages considered). Candidate is willing to learn
JavaScript if not having current experience with the language. - Experience with developing scripts and tooling for Non-Functional Testing
Proven experience with automated cross-browser testing of web applications – essential - Ability to work with continuous integration tools (GitHub Actions)
- Ability to analyze the testing requirements of complex enterprise systems.
- Experience with GitHub or other Git source control provider
- Working knowledge of Azure preferred but AWS considered.
- Experience reviewing code (automated tests related) and providing feedback.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
