Senior Technical Writer, InsuranceAbout Us

Kizen is a leading AI platform for the future of work, redefining how people and AI seamlessly move and improve as one. Founded on the principle that technology should make work more meaningful, Kizen creates AI systems (AKA assistants) that learn, adapt, and improve over time, just like the people who use them.

Today, Kizen powers millions of mission-critical experiences for leading organizations in highly regulated industries like insurance, healthcare, and financial services. Some of the ways we support these teams include: helping insurance agents manage contracting and commissions, enabling healthcare providers to deliver proactive patient care, and empowering financial institutions to classify documents and extract data automatically. We’re solving operational problems and helping the world’s most complex organizations give their teams the tools they need to do more, grow faster and live better.

And this is just the beginning! Kizen is where enterprises get AI that works on day one and is flexible enough to shape it to their own organizations. Our AI-first platform is easy to adopt, scale, and trust making it a destination for developers to build new applications and business teams to customize AI assistants, all in one place.

Join us in transforming how industries work, one person, one workflow, one AI assistant at a time!

You will work directly with Product Owners, Engineers, and Solution Architects to translate complex technical concepts into clear, usable documentation that improves the customer experience.

This role is ideal for a writer who thrives in highly technical environments, understands the insurance industry, solutioning and developer workflows, and takes pride in producing precise, structured documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Insurance Product Owner and Solutions team to document vertical-specific features, data models, and integration patterns unique to the insurance space.
  • Write, edit, and maintain developer-facing documentation including:
    • API documentation
    • Integration guides
    • Plugin documentation
    • Developer tutorials & walkthroughs
    • Technical workflows & concepts
    • Release notes
  • Read, interpret, and validate OpenAPI specifications (.yaml / .json).
  • Partner with engineering teams to document new software features, API endpoints, data models, and error handling.
  • Own documentation quality, clarity, accuracy, and usability.
  • Contribute to documentation architecture, organization, and navigation to support a strong developer experience.
  • Operate within a Docs-as-Code environment using Git-based workflows.
  • Interview subject matter experts and independently gather technical details.
  • Manage documentation projects from intake through publication.
  • Continuously improve documentation based on product changes and developer needs.

What We Do

Kizen builds technology that makes AI actually work for people. Our AI-native platform enables teams to build, monitor, and orchestrate AI agents across the workflows that matter most. We help organizations move from understanding business context, to taking action through intelligent workflows, to safely building custom applications and agents, all while maintaining enterprise-grade security, governance, and compliance. Kizen is trusted by industry leaders to power mission-critical operations. Customers use our platform to automate complex, high-stakes processes such as insurance contracting and commissions, and to deploy AI-native CRM systems for agents, agencies, and organizations across all industries. Kizen is built for both developers and business users. Developers can create full enterprise applications. Business users can configure dashboards, workflows, and agents using AI, low-code, or traditional code. Everyone works on the same platform, with a shared data model and consistent controls, reducing fragmentation and operational risk. What once took months or years to design, build, and connect can now be delivered in days. Kizen combines pre-built agents and proven use cases with a robust automation and data foundation, designed from the ground up for AI-driven execution at scale. We are not chasing hype cycles or novelty. We focus on real operational problems, measurable outcomes, and systems organizations can trust. Our goal is simple: help complex teams work faster, smarter, and more humanely.
