ABOUT THE TEAM

The Bestow Product organization is responsible for defining, designing, and delivering exceptional digital experiences that solve real problems. Our team collaborates across Engineering, Revenue and Ops teams to transform ideas into intuitive, valuable solutions that delight our users. We believe in evidence-based decision making and maintaining a relentless focus on customer outcomes to drive product excellence.

This role will initially report to the Chief Product Officer until we build out our Product Operations function and is open to Remote (US).

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Bestow is looking for a Sr. Technical Writer to establish and lead our documentation practice from the ground up. As our first dedicated technical writer, you'll have the rare opportunity to define what world-class documentation looks like at a modern, AI-forward company. We're looking for someone who sees themselves as part of the next generation of technical writers—not just adapting to change, but driving it.

As a Sr. Technical Writer at Bestow, you will:

  • Excel at creating documentation that bridges complexity and clarity—transforming sophisticated platform capabilities and operational processes into guides that enable customer success and internal team effectiveness.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation across the entire product ecosystem, from API references and integration guides to user manuals and compliance resources

  • Lead documentation work streams for major product releases, coordinating with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to ensure seamless launch readiness

  • Partner with Product Operations to implement AI-powered documentation workflows, establishing scalable processes that maintain quality while increasing efficiency

  • Develop and execute documentation strategies that translate complex insurance technology concepts into clear, actionable guidance for diverse technical and business audiences

  • Build knowledge management systems and internal documentation that accelerates team onboarding and supports cross-functional collaboration

  • Establish documentation standards, style guides, and quality frameworks that ensure consistency across all customer-facing and internal content

  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Support teams to identify content gaps and create proactive documentation solutions that reduce support burden

  • Support strategic Product Operations initiatives by documenting processes, frameworks, and workflows that enable organizational scalability and operational excellence

WHO YOU ARE
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or related field

  • 4+ years of technical writing experience in SaaS environments, preferably in fintech, insurtech, or other regulated industries

  • Experience documenting APIs, developer integrations, and complex technical workflows for both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Proficiency with modern documentation platforms (GitBook, Notion, Confluence), docs-as-code workflows (Markdown, Git), and API documentation tools (Swagger, Postman, OpenAPI)

  • Experience leading, developing, and optimizing AI-native workflows for content creation and continuous review.

  • Experience with process documentation, including: workflow mapping, requirements gathering, and change management documentation

  • You possess cross-functional collaboration skills with proven ability to work effectively with Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams
