We develop and maintain applications and tools for our internal customers for data acquisition, data processing, and visualization. As part of the software development team, you will produce high-quality documentation. You will be responsible for working independently on information development projects. Moreover, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams in a scrum environment.
As a Senior Technical Writer, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the information development projects with team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams to plan and produce high-quality content.
- Providing input to information development strategy on a high level.
- Making documentation more efficient, collaborative, and scalable through tools, workflows, and processes.
- Improving processes by influencing, defining, and leading strategic content initiatives.
- Providing recommendations on technology adoption, processes, software, and other tools to meet business objectives.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a progressive career trajectory as Senior Technical Writer with 7-11 years of experience writing developer documentation for complex enterprise software products.
- Have an expert proficiency in technical writing best practices and style guides like the Chicago Manual of Style and AP Stylebook.
- Have clear skills in editing (QA for documentation) and recognize errors and opportunities for improvement in a variety of information deliverables.
- Have strong skills with authoring tools (preferably MadCap Advanced Developer (MAD) certified) and video creation tools like Camtasia.
- Have strong project management skills with the ability to estimate scope and time, create and work to deadlines, and collaborate to create a schedule.
- Have a fundamental understanding of Lean/Agile/XP software development processes, their application to Digital projects, and how to follow processes for information development.
- Have a basic understanding of the major aspects of SDLC.
- Have a basic domain and product knowledge, including appropriate terminology, with an awareness of Digital product line(s) and offerings, competitive landscapes, and associated industries.
- Have an awareness of how Digital drives value to its customers and how the information development function fits into Digital’s overall business strategy.
