Your next role as a Miracle Maker 

Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a #MiracleMaker to join our Commercial team as a Senior Technical Sales Manager, APAC. The Senior Technical Sales Manager is a senior technical-commercial individual contributor responsible for driving strategic account growth and revenue generation across the China biopharma and CDMO market. This role combines quota-carrying sales responsibility with technical expertise in bioprocess analytics, process characterization, and analytical workflows supporting biologics, mRNA, and advanced therapeutics manufacturing.
Based in Shanghai, Beijing, or Guangzhou, the position partners closely with distributors, direct customer accounts, and cross-functional internal teams to expand market presence, support customer applications, and drive commercial growth throughout China. The role reports directly to the General Manager of Cygnus Technologies.

How you will make an impact: 

  • Develop and execute territory and strategic account plans to drive revenue growth and market expansion throughout China.
  • Manage the full commercial sales cycle including prospecting, technical consultation, opportunity qualification, forecasting, negotiation, and contract closure.
  • Build strategic relationships with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, CDMO, CRO, and research customers while serving as a trusted technical and commercial advisor.
  • Partner closely with distributors and channel partners to strengthen technical enablement, customer engagement, and commercial execution across the China market.
  • Provide technical consultation and customer guidance related to bioprocess impurity testing, analytical workflows, process characterization, and regulatory support activities.
  • Support direct customer interactions alongside distributor-led opportunities to accelerate adoption and customer success.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Marketing, R&D, Product Management, and Technical Support teams to support customer programs and commercial initiatives.
  • Conduct presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and training sessions at customer sites and industry events.
  • Maintain CRM pipeline data, forecasts, market intelligence, and competitive insights to support commercial planning and business development activities.
  • Perform other functions and duties as required 

 The skills and experience that you will bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business, or related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of experience in bioprocessing, technical sales, business development, field applications, or strategic account management within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, CDMO, CRO, or life sciences environments; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of upstream and downstream bioprocessing workflows, analytical methods, process characterization, and biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with immunoassay platforms, ELISA applications, or related analytical methods such as HPLC, LC-MS, or qPCR.
  • Proven success in quota-carrying technical sales, strategic account management, distributor management, or customer-facing commercial roles supporting life sciences products or services.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex customer relationships, support distributor enablement, and influence technical commercial opportunities in regulated environments.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with experience using CRM, forecasting, and commercial reporting tools.
  • Professional fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English required.
  • Willingness to travel throughout China for customer visits, distributor meetings, conferences, and business activities.
