The Consumer Engineering team at Optum is on a mission to disrupt the healthcare industry, transforming UHG into an industry-leading Consumer brand. Role Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Tech Product Manager to own AI-powered chatbot experiences leveraging LLMs. You will translate business problems into scalable conversational AI solutions, working closely with engineering, ML, design, and business teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Product Ownership: Define and manage AI chatbot requirements, roadmap, and cross-team dependencies
  • Delivery and Development: Collaborate with ML teams on prompt engineering, RAG, and model evaluation, Write user stories and acceptance criteria in Rally; validate Aha! requirements
  • Project Management: Partner with program teams to maintain updated project plans and mitigate risks
  • Backlog Management: Groom and prioritize features and technical improvements aligned with business goals. Help in Identifying and prioritize high-impact chatbot use cases, Balance tradeoffs between model performance, cost, and scalability
  • Quality: Drive chatbot quality improvements (accuracy, latency, containment)
  • Responsible Use of AI: Collaborate with security and privacy teams on PII and compliance
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of product management experience
  • 3+ years owning technical or platform products
  • Hands-on experience with chatbots, conversational AI, or GenAI products
  • Understanding of LLM fundamentals (prompting, RAG, embeddings)
  • Proven solid technical aptitude (APIs, system architecture, cloud platforms)
  • Proven data-driven decision making and execution mindset
  • Willingness to overlap with US teams for 5-6 hours.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Healthcare Experience
  • Background in NLP, search, or internal productivity tools
