What You’ll Do
As a Senior Tax Manager, you will lead and shape the tax function by overseeing compliance, reporting, planning, and overall tax strategy while managing complex client engagements or advanced corporate tax matters. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives and high-value clients, translating complex tax issues into clear, strategic guidance. In this role, you’ll also mentor and guide a large team of tax professionals, providing technical leadership, fostering talent development, and helping drive business growth through thoughtful insights, strong relationships, and a forward-looking approach.
- Provide strategic leadership for the tax department or practice area, setting direction, priorities, and goals aligned with business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a large team of tax professionals (managers, seniors, and staff), overseeing performance management, resource planning, and talent development and retention.
- Serve as the senior technical authority and final reviewer for complex federal, state, local, and international tax matters, including corporate, partnership, and individual returns.
- Ensure full compliance with current tax laws, GAAP/IFRS standards, and internal control policies, maintaining accuracy and mitigating risk.
- Design and execute advanced tax planning strategies to optimize tax positions, reduce liabilities, and support long-term financial efficiency.
- Provide high-level advisory support on complex transactions, restructurings, and regulatory changes to clients or senior leadership.
What You’ll Bring
- Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. Active CPA license is required for this level of responsibility. A master’s degree in taxation (MST/Tax) is strongly preferred.
- Experience: 8–10+ years of progressive tax experience, including substantial time in a management or supervisory role. Background within a large public accounting firm or the corporate tax department of a large, multinational organization is highly desirable.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of tax law, compliance, and reporting requirements across multiple tax domains. Strong proficiency with enterprise tax platforms and tools such as CCH Axcess, Onesource, SAP Tax, and advanced data analytics solutions.
- Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and influence at all levels, with strong presentation, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills.
- Business Acumen: Proven business judgment and an entrepreneurial mindset, with a track record of managing successful, profitable engagements or departments.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex tax concepts to C‑suite executives, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.

- Base salary of plus discretionary bonus $140,000 - $150,000 (exact base salary amount will be dependent on experience)
