The role of the Systems Software Developer is to deliver professional integration services and solutions for all QNX products. In this role you will resolve complex technical issues and use innovative thinking in the development and delivery of solutions for customer issues. The Systems Software Developer acts as a consultative partner providing expertise, analysis and advice to external customers.  The Systems Software Developer will develop and maintain strong working relationships with various internal stakeholders, in order to resolve issues that positively impact the customers experience.

We are looking for a hands-on Systems Software Developer who combines strong embedded software expertise with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and customer-facing skills. This is an opportunity to work on complex QNX technologies, resolve challenging technical issues, develop innovative solutions, and collaborate closely with customers and internal engineering teams to deliver a high-quality customer experience.

You will have:

  • Very strong communication, problem solving and analysis skills are an absolute must.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues and identifying root causes to develop effective solutions.
  • The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to proactively and reactively resolve technical issues.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • A passion for learning new technologies and working with complex embedded software systems.

You will have the following technical skills & experience:

  • Strong C programming skills and solid understanding of embedded software development principles.
  • Working knowledge of POSIX/Unix operating systems and embedded software development.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex system-level software issues.
  • Knowledge of shell scripting languages, GCC and GDB would be an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded systems would be an asset.
  • Experience working on large projects with high levels of software and system integration would be an asset.
  • Exposure to QNX technologies and products such as Networking, USB, Kernel, Safety, Security, Hypervisor, Graphics, IDE, and development tools would be an asset.
  • Proven ability to deal with sensitive customer and business matters with a high degree of diplomacy, tact, and confidentiality.
  • Advanced level of English language skills.
  • Native level of Japanese language skills.
