The Anduril Battlespace Awareness Radar team develops innovative and differentiated radar solutions to tackle national security challenges for America and its allies. We're seeking a Systems Security Engineer who will drive security engineering principles into the design and integration of our next-generation radar systems. The ideal candidate has a background in systems security engineering with deep expertise in embedded systems security, particularly for heterogeneous computing environments. You will perform in-depth security architecture assessments, identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, and work cross-functionally to bake security into our radar products from inception through deployment.
Anduril is seeking a skilled and experienced Systems Security Engineer to play a critical role in securing our next-generation radar systems. This role is essential for building robust, high-performance, and secure software platforms targeting heterogeneous processors embedded in our radar products, including Nvidia Jetson SoCs, Intel Agilex FPGAs, and ARM CPU architectures. You will own security end-to-end for assigned radar products and ensure our systems meet the highest standards for security, resilience, and compliance with government requirements.
Note: This is not an ISSO or ISSM role.
- Own security end-to-end for assigned radar products—derive and decompose security requirements from customer needs and threat intelligence, design security architectures, and manage security through the full product lifecycle
- Architect and implement security features for embedded radar systems operating on heterogeneous computing environments, including Nvidia Jetson SoCs (e.g., Orin AGX), and ARM CPU architectures
- Design and implement security-focused software frameworks ensuring high standards for maintainability, testability, reliability, and security across CPUs, GPUs, and FPGAs
- Develop and execute comprehensive security test strategies at multiple integration levels, including component-level and system-level assessments
- Define and secure internal and external APIs for component-to-component communication and third-party integration, ensuring robust authentication, authorization, and data protection
- Conduct system-level security architecture assessments and vulnerability analysis, focusing on embedded systems, secure boot, key management, firmware security, and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
- Support major milestone deliveries (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PRR) with security assessments, documentation, and risk mitigation strategies
- Brief security architectures and approaches to government customers and program leadership, translating complex security concepts for diverse technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, algorithm specialists, and product managers, to integrate security requirements into overall system architecture
- Work with security assessment teams to assess Anduril's radar products and integrated components to uncover potential weaknesses and coordinate remediation efforts
- Advise on secure software development best practices, including secure coding standards, threat modeling, version control, and CI/CD security integration
- Research and evaluate emerging security technologies and industry trends in edge computing, embedded systems security, and radar signal processing
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
- 8+ years of experience in Systems Security Engineering, Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field
- Previous work on security engineering and architecture for defense/national security systems and/or complex embedded commercial systems
- Deep expertise in embedded systems security, including familiarity with security-relevant features on embedded hardware/FPGAs (e.g., secure boot, trusted execution environments, key management, hardware security modules)
- Architectural security expertise with proven experience securing complex software systems for embedded or real-time applications
- Experience with heterogeneous computing security: Hands-on experience securing systems combining CPUs, GPUs (specifically Nvidia Jetson), and FPGAs
- Strong understanding of secure API design and implementation for both internal and external consumers
- Proficiency in secure coding practices and vulnerability mitigation for embedded software, including board support packages (BSP), real-time operating systems (RTOS), and device drivers
- Ability to effectively brief and interact regularly with highly technical government customers
- Strong understanding of the "why" behind product, system, and security design decisions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey security architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
- Up to 15% travel
- Excels at the above listed Requirements
- Possesses and able to maintain a U.S. TS Security clearance with SCI and/or SAP eligibility
- Strong programming and security analysis skills in C++, Python, Rust, and/or Go
- Experience securing heterogeneous programming environments, including oneAPI, SYCL, and CUDA for GPUs and FPGAs
- FPGA security experience: Familiarity with securing FPGA implementations, including Hardware Description Languages (HDL) like Verilog, high-level synthesis tools, and soft processors
- Experience assessing security of firmware, applications, network, IoT, or embedded systems through penetration testing, red teaming, or vulnerability assessments
- Fluency in modern USG cyber methodologies, including Cyber Survivability guidance and related policy (JSIG, ICD 503, CSEIG, SSECG, NIST SP 800-160, Cyber T&E Guidebook, CMMC, STIGs, etc.)
- Experience developing cyber documentation for USG customers
- Proven track record excelling across the broader Systems Security Engineering domain, encompassing embedded Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Cyber Resiliency, and Software Security
- Experience creating and integrating with system design documentation in MBSE tools
- Experience integrating with Software Assurance, Supply Chain Risk Management, Configuration Management, and System Test processes
- Experience executing the Anti-Tamper process and authoring associated documentation
- Domain knowledge in radar systems, signal processing security, or RF systems
- Experience with security testing on DoD radar or sensor systems
- Experience working with unmanned systems or long-range sensor platforms
