Belcan has an immediate need for a Senior Systems Engineer to work a hybrid/remote schedule near one of our US Belcan locations. In this role, you will be responsible for design and architecture related to the implementation of production environments. The focus is on design, development, and improvement of systems and solutions. They analyze needs, create architectures, build and implement solutions, and optimize performance. This position will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following items:

JOB DUTIES:

* Take initiative on large ad-hoc projects and process improvements.

* Expanding our current architecture to add features to improve current products.

* Lead design and creation of new products to drive business growth.

* Work within internal customer requirements and advise internal customers on best practices.

* Perform system troubleshooting and issue remediation.

* Perform configuration of administration software tools.

* Monitoring systems; responding to and ensuring resolution of issues.

* Provide after-hours support during critical or user impacting outages.

* Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Strong understanding and interest in Linux operating systems such as RedHat, CentOS and Rocky Linux.

* Expertise in Linux administration and scripting (e.g., Shell, Python, Perl).

* Familiarity with IT service design principles and best practices.

* Proven ability to design and implement complex solutions, drawing on various technologies and tools.

* Deep understanding of technology principles and broader technical expertise.

* Minimum of five years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Systems Engineer.

* Strong understanding of Certificate Authority (CA) principles and certificate management.

* Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting network issues.

* Proactive, driven, and self-motivated, with a desire to succeed.

* Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills.

* Proven work ethic, tenacity, and focus.

* Attention to detail and accuracy.

* Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment.

*Must be able to work onsite as needed/very occasionally* - Cincinnati, West Palm Beach, Lexington, Phoenix, and Indianapolis are preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

* Proven experience in Configuration Management and Configuration Orchestration with Ansible.

* Strong understanding and interest in Virtualization platforms such as VMware and AWS.

* Experience using AWS to design and deploy systems and services.

* Experience with Cisco wireless solutions (e.g., Catalyst, Aironet).

* Deployment of system monitoring and reporting tools (Zabbix preferred).

* Strong leadership qualities related to the organization of internal projects.

* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

* Willingness to learn.

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position offers a pay range of $120,000 to $130,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
