The Senior Systems Engineer – Technical Operations provides advanced systems engineering, technical operations, and cybersecurity sustainment support for a globally distributed Department of Defense (DoD) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) program supporting 24x7 worldwide operations.
Reporting to the Systems Engineering Operation Manager, the incumbent serves as a senior technical contributor responsible for Tier III engineering support, enterprise troubleshooting, systems integration, lifecycle sustainment, and security patch management across multiple production environments. This position works closely with engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and Government stakeholders to maintain mission-critical infrastructure while ensuring system availability, security compliance, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier III engineering support for enterprise systems, applications, networking, virtualization, and storage environments.
- Plan, test, and implement operating system, application, firmware, and security patches across development, test, and production environments.
- Perform vulnerability remediation in accordance with DISA STIGs, RMF requirements, and customer-directed timelines.
- Troubleshoot complex Linux, Windows, network, storage, and application issues.
- Support systems integration, technology refresh, upgrades, and lifecycle sustainment activities.
- Analyze ACAS/Tenable vulnerability findings and validate remediation efforts.
- Support change management, configuration management, and engineering documentation.
- Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for operational issues.
- Provide engineering support to worldwide operations and Field Service Representatives.
- Support technical proposals, engineering estimates, and modernization initiatives as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- 6+ years supporting enterprise DoD or Intelligence Community systems.
- 4+ years providing Tier III systems engineering or technical operations support.
- Demonstrated experience planning and executing enterprise security patching across multiple environments.
- Strong experience with Linux and Windows administration, virtualization, enterprise networking, and storage technologies.
- Experience implementing DISA STIGs, RMF controls, and vulnerability remediation using ACAS/Tenable or similar tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Security+, CISSP, CASP+, RHCSA/RHCE, VMware VCP, CCNP, or similar certification.
- Experience supporting DISA, NGA, SOCOM, or Combatant Command programs.
- Experience with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), Kubernetes, VMware, cloud infrastructure, and automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
- Familiarity with ISR architectures and mission-critical operational environments.

Cubic Pay Range:
$123,000.00 - $160,000.00 + benefits.
