This position is for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer who is eager to join an SRE cultured Systems Engineering team for the Walt Disney Company. The role is specifically in the Parks, Resorts and Experiences area supporting systems at The Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Disneyland Paris sites.
We are seeking someone with a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mindset who can help us implement automation and deliver innovative solutions for the day to day work the operations team is doing. The opportunities to automate and innovate in our space include but is not limited to Cloud infrastructure provisioning, SSL certificate renewals, vulnerability remediation (patching), F5/Load Balancer configuration, Akamai configuration, and infrastructure decommissioning.

What you will do:
This role will primarily be focused on maturing the team's processes with automation and new tooling but will also help coach/mentor those team members handling current day to day activities. The Senior Systems Engineer is expected to have strong troubleshooting skills on Linux based systems including those hosted in the Cloud. The ideal candidate will have prior working AWS Cloud experience with (or equivalents of) Terraform, Chef, F5/load balancing, Akamai, Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, Redis, and Rabbit MQ. A foundational development/scripting background is preferred along with Git (or similar source code repository) to facilitate the automation requirements of the role. Required knowledge and understanding of technical architecture, application systems design and integration in a large heterogeneous enterprise environment with hands on experience in REST, SOA, Java/J2EE, XML, Apache Tomcat Application Server, iRules is desired. In this role, you will actively engage with Development & QA teams, Product/Business Owners, and even senior Management, hence, strong and effective communication skills working are required. Must be self-driven, yet yearn for strong team coherence. Above all, you must have a passion for new and emerging technology and a constant drive of curiosity. In addition, the candidate should have the leadership skills to guide the efforts of a small team of Systems Engineers, prioritize workload, propose technical solutions to peers, participate in project Sprint planning, and lead small to midsized technical efforts.
Willingness to participate in a Production support on-call rotation.

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of equivalent work experience as a Systems Engineer at enterprise scale.
