Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Level 5) to join the Phantom Works Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) in Arlington, VA.
The ideal candidate is a highly experienced Operations Analysis or Operations Research professional who is passionate about creatively solving complex problems at the front end of the business! In this role you will lead and perform engagement, mission, and campaign level modeling, simulation, and analysis for the Joint All Domain Analysis team. This role requires a high level of technical knowledge, experience, and leadership within an operations analysis skill to plan, design, and execute studies of complex multi-domain systems.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead and perform execution of efforts to include planning, scoping, development, testing, analysis, implementation, schedule and reporting
- Develop observations and recommendations, based on data, that will be presented to senior leadership
- Exercise critical thinking, develop advanced technical ideas and provide innovative solutions
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Ability to lead analysis teams and provide support to other teams as dictated by mission needs
- Select, integrate, and use modeling and simulation tools appropriate to each study and lead tool development when required
- Responsible authority for technical execution and utilization of established analytical processes and practices
Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 14+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- Expertise in building complex operational models, simulations, and decision-support systems covering a wide range of defense products
- Experience leading large defense analysis projects or operations research studies
- Proven ability to produce clear, actionable results from complex analyses
- Deep knowledge of military concepts of operations, threat capabilities, and emerging defense technologies
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences, including senior government leaders
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Experience with government / industry standard analysis tools such as AFSIM
- Background in machine learning and/or artificial intelligence
- Advanced degree in engineering, computer science, data science, operations research, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a related technical field
