About Camden

Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Because we're not just home to the UK's fast-growing economy. We're home to the most important conversations happening today. And we're making radical social change a reality so that nobody gets left behind.

What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved

As a Senior Systems and Controls Officer, you will lead a dedicated team and safeguard the integrity of the Council's financial systems for both income and payments.

You will support the Systems Controls and Income Team Manager by overseeing system accounts, carrying out complex General Ledger reconciliations, and leading the daily loading and reconciliation of bank statements.

You will guide your team to identify and resolve the root causes of system errors, while serving as the lead contact for system changes, upgrades, and implementations—including organising and leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and project planning.

This role can be dynamic and challenging as you balance detailed technical analysis with reporting unreconciled items directly to senior leadership and deputising for the team manager. However, you will be playing a crucial role in providing assurance to senior finance leaders and streamlining processes to deliver the best possible outcomes for Camden.

This role is office based. A minimum 3 days a week in the office and more when required.
All About You

We are looking for someone with a proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of direct reports. You are highly proficient in working with complex financial systems and interfaces, bringing advanced skills in reconciling, evaluating, and reviewing financial information. You possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, allowing you to engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, from internal budget managers to the Oracle Cloud Support Team.

You will thrive in a fast-paced, shifting environment, showing the capability to self-manage your work, make difficult decisions, and proactively identify opportunities to implement system and control improvements.

We want to give everyone the same chance to showcase their relevant skills and experience so please clearly answer these two questions, in order:
1.Can you provide an example of a time when you successfully led a team through a complex financial reconciliation or system error resolution, and how you identified the root cause of the issue?

2.Describe your experience working with financial system developments, upgrades, or leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT). How did you manage stakeholder communication during the process?
