Senior Systems Administrator

Reports to: Senior Manager - IT Infrastructure
Location:
In Office, Orange CT

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $106,000 - $132,500

Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned and proactive Windows System Administrator with 5+ years of experience in enterprise IT environments. This role requires deep expertise in Windows Server administration, virtualization, hypervisor-level networking, Active Directory, and Failover Clustering. The ideal candidate will also have experience integrating SAN/NAS storage into virtual environments, working with SCCM, participating in Disaster Recovery (DR) drills, and leading infrastructure projects. Familiarity with ServiceNOW and CMDB is preferred, as is exposure to Azure and AWS cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).

  • Configure and manage Hyper-V and Nutanix virtualization platforms.

  • Design and maintain virtual networking within hypervisors (VLANs, virtual switches).

  • Integrate SAN/NAS storage into virtual environments in collaboration with the Storage Team.

  • Configure and maintain Windows Failover Clusters for high availability and resilience.

  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP services.

  • Utilize SCCM for software deployment, patching, and asset management.

  • Participate in and lead Disaster Recovery drills, ensuring readiness and documentation.

  • Lead infrastructure-related projects, including planning, execution, and cross-team coordination.

  • Collaborate with vendors for hardware/software procurement, support, and implementation.

  • Work with ServiceNOW for incident, change, and request management; maintain accurate CMDB records.

  • Provide Tier 2/3 support and participate in on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5+ years of experience as a Windows System Administrator in enterprise environments.

  • Strong understanding of virtual networking within hypervisors.

  • Hands-on experience with Hyper-V, Nutanix, and Windows Failover Clustering.

  • Solid knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain services.

  • Experience integrating SAN/NAS storage into virtual environments.

  • Proficiency with SCCM for endpoint and patch management.

  • Demonstrated experience with Disaster Recovery drills.

  • Proven ability to lead projects and work effectively with vendors.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong understanding of virtual networking within hypervisors.

  • Hands-on experience with Hyper-V, Nutanix, and Windows Failover Clustering.

  • Solid knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain services.

  • Experience integrating SAN/NAS storage into virtual environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with ServiceNOW and CMDB practices.

  • Exposure to Azure and AWS cloud platforms.

  • Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA Network+, Azure Administrator Associate, or AWS Solutions Architect.

  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.

  • Exposure to cloud migration and hybrid infrastructure strategies.

  • Familiarity with ServiceNOW and CMDB practices.

  • Exposure to Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
