Position Overview 
The Senior Systems Administrator - Infrastructure & Cloud is responsible for the reliability, security, performance, and availability of Mevotech's on-premises and cloud infrastructure. 

As a senior technical leader, you'll provide expertise across enterprise infrastructure technologies including: 

  • Microsoft Azure 

  • Hybrid Cloud Environments 

  • VMware Virtualization 

  • Windows Server Administration 

  • Linux Server Administration 

  • Active Directory Services 

  • DNS & DHCP 

  • Backup & Disaster Recovery Solutions 

  • Infrastructure Automation 

  • Business Continuity Planning 

Working closely with Infrastructure, Network, Security, and Application teams, you'll support critical production systems while driving modernization initiatives and continuous improvement across the enterprise. 


Key Responsibilities 
Enterprise Infrastructure Administration 

  • Manage and maintain enterprise infrastructure environments to ensure maximum uptime, performance, and reliability. 

  • Administer Windows Server and Linux environments across multiple locations. 

  • Manage VMware virtualization platforms and virtual infrastructure. 

  • Support and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related services. 

  • Monitor infrastructure health, performance, capacity, and availability. 

  • Implement infrastructure standards, policies, and operational best practices. 

  • Manage patching, upgrades, maintenance windows, and hardware lifecycle planning. 


Azure & Hybrid Cloud Operations 

  • Serve as the technical lead for Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud services. 
  • Manage Azure Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking, Identity, Monitoring, and Security solutions. 

  • Support hybrid infrastructure environments connecting on-premises and cloud platforms. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Azure and infrastructure issues. 

  • Ensure cloud services align with security, compliance, and operational standards. 


Backup, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity 

  • Own enterprise backup and recovery solutions and processes. 

  • Define and maintain Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs). 

  • Perform backup validation, recovery testing, and disaster recovery exercises. 

  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, documentation, and recovery runbooks. 

  • Continuously improve infrastructure resilience and business continuity capabilities. 

    Technical Leadership & Escalation Support 

  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents. 

  • Lead root cause investigations and implement long-term corrective actions. 

  • Mentor and support junior team members and IT colleagues. 

  • Partner with Network, Security, and Application teams to improve service delivery. 

  • Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support activities when required. 


Infrastructure Projects & Continuous Improvement 

  • Lead infrastructure projects from planning through implementation. 

  • Identify opportunities for automation using PowerShell and other technologies. 

  • Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, policies, and operational procedures. 

  • Support cybersecurity and compliance initiatives across the infrastructure landscape. 

Drive initiatives including: 

  • Cloud migrations 

  • Infrastructure modernization 

  • Server upgrades 

  • Data center optimization 

  • Virtualization enhancements 

  • Communications and phone system improvements
     

Ideal Qualifications  

  • 5-7+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Administration, or related roles. 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. 

  • Experience supporting enterprise hybrid cloud environments. 

  • Proven Microsoft Azure administration experience. 

  • Strong VMware virtualization expertise. 

  • Experience administering Windows Server and Linux environments. 

  • Experience managing enterprise backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions. 

  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and core infrastructure services. 

  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring, capacity planning, and system performance optimization. 

  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation. 

  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices, identity management, and governance frameworks. 


Physical Demands And Working Conditions 

  • Hybrid work model consisting of four (4) days onsite and one (1) day remote per week. 

  • Primarily office and computer-based work environment. 

  • Occasional lifting and handling of IT infrastructure equipment and hardware. 

  • Participation in scheduled after-hours maintenance activities and on-call support rotations as required. 

  • Occasional travel to company facilities, data centers, and vendor locations. 

  • Ability to respond effectively during critical incidents, service disruptions, or disaster recovery events. 
     

Skills Required

  • 5-7+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, cloud administration, or related roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience supporting enterprise hybrid cloud environments
  • Proven Microsoft Azure administration experience
  • Strong VMware virtualization expertise
  • Experience administering Windows Server and Linux environments
