Job Brief
Maxwell Energy works on advanced electronics focusing on efficient energy storage and conversion
solutions. We are looking for a System Engineer with a strong desire to make our products highly reliable
and safe yet simple. In this role, you would be responsible for end-to-end process definition,
implementation and execution of the best practices of system engineering in the company.
Requirements
Work closely with (customers') system and vehicle architects to understand and derive system
requirements
● Define functional requirements, technical requirements, robustness and reliability requirements
for the product
● Conduct systems- failure modes and effects analysis (SFMEA) and design-failure modes and
effects analysis (DFMEA)
● Modeling system level and vehicle level use cases and maintaining version controlled summary
of traceability
● Deriving system state and mode flow machine and behavior of the product and its effect on
vehicle for each state and mode
● Preparing logical architecture and technical architecture with component owners ensuring
internal alignment among each component owners
● Preparing signal interface specifications for each derived signals interacting between the logical
and physical components
● Hands on with implementing V-cycle
● Good to have knowledge on safety standards ISO-26262 and cybersecurity standards
● Review and communicate the requirements with HW teams, SW teams, test teams, customers.
Must- Have Requirements:
● Bachelors or master’s in electronic or similar engineering with 4+ years of experience.
● Good understanding of automotive architecture, electrical and electronic systems within
automotive electric vehicles- EVs and HEVs
● Basic know how on battery management systems
● Hands on with any automotive function development
● Good understanding on interfaces like CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C, Microcontroller architectures, DC-DC
converters, electronic control units, relay drivers, solid state relays/ PDU, automotive ethernet,
UDS diagnostics protocol, OBD, etc
● Team player and good at cross functional work abilities
● Capable of defining the process of handling the requirements with the help of project
management and technical management
● Hands on with DOORs or any other requirement management tools
● Awareness on ISO26262 functional safety implementation.
- Exposure to UML and SySML topics
- Exposure in writing User Acceptance and System Test Cases
- 3–4 years of experience in Systems Engineering, preferably in BMS, automotive, or embedded products.
- Experience in SOR/SRS creation, DFMEA, and requirements management.
- Knowledge of system integration, verification, and validation.
- Familiarity with CAN/CAN FD and product development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Nice-to-have Requirements:
● Experience/strong understanding on ISO26262 functional safety implementation
● Awareness on ECU topologies
● Experience working on Battery management systems
Model in Loop Testing and Unit Testing
Mandatory skills - Matlab Simulink
Skills Required

- Exposure to UML and SysML
- Experience writing User Acceptance and System Test Cases
- Team player with strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Capable of defining requirement handling processes with project and technical management
- Experience or strong understanding of ISO 26262 functional safety implementation
- Awareness of ECU topologies
- Experience working on Battery Management Systems
- Model-in-the-Loop testing and Unit Testing experience
