Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior System Administrator to oversee and manage our organization's server and network infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and security platforms including CrowdStrike and Microsoft Defender. The ideal candidate will also have experience with identity and access management tools such as Okta and cloud security platforms like Netskope. This position involves project oversight, cross-functional collaboration, and proactive system management to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Server & Network Administration
- Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and network infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability of services.
- Cloud & Collaboration Platforms
- Administer and optimize Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Support and maintain Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams.
- Security Operations
- Implement and manage endpoint protection using CrowdStrike and Microsoft Defender.
- Collaborate with the security team to monitor threats and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Identity & Access Management
- Administer Okta for SSO and identity lifecycle management.
- Integrate and manage Netskope for cloud security and data protection.
- Project Oversight
- Lead or support IT infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Documentation & Support
- Create and maintain system documentation, procedures, and configurations.
- Provide Tier 3 support and mentorship to junior administrators and service desk staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in system administration with a focus on enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in network administration Microsoft Azure, M365, Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Hands-on experience with CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, Okta, and Netskope.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, VPNs, and DNS.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Preferred certifications:
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
- Okta Certified Professional
- CrowdStrike Certified Falcon Administrator
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
Pay Transparency:
Pathstone’s expected starting base compensation range for the position as of the time of this posting is $110,000 - $125,000 per year. The actual base compensation selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) experience, education, specialty and training. The successful candidate(s) may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus award.
