Job Description:
Parsons has multiple positions open for system administrators to join a newly created systems engineering and development team supporting USCYBERCOM in the Columbia, MD and Fort Meade area. The infrastructure team members apply their knowledge of software, operating systems, networks, databases, architectures, and tools to improve the maintainability and operability of modern and containerized software systems. The position is an integral role within the team as processes, and application and infrastructure requirements are being developed in support of establishing a mission specific Security Operations Center (SOC). This position requires a motivated individual who seeks to work and grow within a team environment and is also comfortable interfacing with developers and other end users. There is some remote work availability for this position.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Apply best practices to design, build, administer, and maintain an end-to-end SOC infrastructure in virtual and cloud-based environments.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures and other documentation to support IT operations.
- Configure both operating systems and software products, as well as installing required software patches and security updates for the systems.
- Execute cyber hardening through DISA STIG implementation/System Hardening and working within Configuration-Managed Environments.
- Prepare and submit status reports, and technical briefs, as required, to supervisor, senior management, and customers.
- Design and integrate a testing infrastructure and program into the system development process.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- 10+ years administering Linux or Windows-based infrastructure; 5+ years RHEL Server Administration.
- 10+ years of experience administering Federal or DOD systems.
- Demonstrated experience administering database systems.
- Solid understanding of DISA STIG requirements and implementation.
- Experience with Secure-The-Enterprise (STE) procedures.
- Experience transitioning from on-premises systems to cloud environments.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Windows Powershell and Unix shell.
- Experience building and administering cloud-based environments.
- Current DoD IAT Level 2 Certification
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Experience designing and defining system architecture for IT and cloud environments.
- Experience with assessing and monitoring system compliance, auditing, and system security plan development.
- Experience with identifying and remediating information system security violations.
- Experience monitoring network usage to ensure compliance with security policies.
- Experience integrating cybersecurity processes, procedures and tools into systems and networks.
- Support the creation, review and updating of information security related documents.
- Experience administering infrastructure within a Security Operations Center.

Salary Range:
$104,200.00 - $182,400.00
