Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Electrical/Electronics)

We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to own supplier and component quality across our electronic hardware commodities — with deep, hands-on experience in displays, CPUs/processors, and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA). In this role, you will be the technical quality authority for these commodities: qualifying suppliers and components, driving root-cause resolution of field and production issues, and partnering with design, procurement, and manufacturing to build quality into our products from concept through mass production.

This is a high-impact role for an engineer who is equally comfortable reviewing a supplier's PPAP package, standing on the production floor debugging a PCBA defect, and presenting quality metrics to leadership.

Key Responsibilities 

• Serve as the primary quality owner for display, CPU/processor, and PCBA commodities across the product lifecycle, from new product introduction (NPI) through end of life. 

• Lead supplier qualification, on-site audits, and ongoing performance management for component and contract manufacturers, including domestic and overseas partners (ODM/EMS). 

• Drive the quality core tools — APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC — and review and approve supplier submissions, first-article inspections, and control plans. 

• Investigate and resolve component and assembly failures using structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa/fishbone), and coordinate failure analysis with suppliers and internal labs. 

• Manage nonconformance (NCMR), containment, and supplier corrective action (SCAR) processes, ensuring timely and effective closure. 

• Establish and track commodity quality metrics (DPPM, first-pass yield, RMA/field return rates) and drive continuous improvement against targets. 

• Define incoming inspection criteria and reliability/qualification test plans for displays, processors, and PCBA, and interpret results to make sound accept/reject decisions. 

• Ensure compliance with applicable workmanship and industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC/J-STD-001) and internal specifications. 

• Partner cross-functionally with design/hardware engineering, procurement, operations, and program management to represent the voice of quality in design reviews and sourcing decisions. 

• Support root-cause and containment activities for field issues, and feed lessons learned back into design and process controls. 

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.

• 7+ years of quality engineering experience in electronics or hardware manufacturing, with a proven track record in supplier/commodity quality.

• Direct, hands-on commodity experience with display technologies (LCD/OLED/LED), CPUs/SoCs/processors, and PCBA.

• Strong command of the quality core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC) and statistical problem-solving.

• Proficiency with structured root-cause and corrective-action methodologies (8D, 5-Why, fishbone) and demonstrated results driving supplier improvement.

• Working knowledge of PCBA workmanship and reliability standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC/J-STD-001.

• Experience conducting supplier audits and managing supplier performance.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams and external suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

• Experience with ISO 9001 (and, where relevant, ISO 13485 or IATF 16949) quality management systems.

• Familiarity with component reliability testing (thermal, mechanical, ESD, HALT/HASS) and failure-analysis techniques (X-ray, cross-section, SEM).

• Experience managing overseas contract manufacturers and component suppliers, including comfort with international travel.

• Background in casino gaming manufacturing or a similar industry.
