Then join Hempel’s R&D Marine team. You will be working in a global, dynamic and multicultural environment and contribute to achieving the Double Impact strategy goals in Marine, with important focus on technology leadership and sustainability.
Leadership in Silicone fouling defence and fouling release systems
A key objective of the Double Impact strategy in Marine is to maintain a leadership position in Silicone hull coatings systems, such as market leading Hempel’s Hempaguard and Hempasil brands and future technologies under development.
You will be part of a team of subject matter experts in marine coatings, working closely with the R&D formulation and commercial teams, you will provide technical expert support to internal and external stakeholders.
The key responsibilities for this role within the subject matter area are:
- Provide accurate and fast technical expert support to business.
- Responsible for technical documentation and coating system specifications of commercial products.
- Member in all relevant New Solutions, with key responsibilities on risk assessment, technical sign-off and technical product documentation.
- Assist in satisfactory resolution of claims, taking part in root-cause investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead continuous building and sharing of technical knowledge, documentation and training.
- Close work with Commercial stakeholders to maintain our leadership position in Silicone hull coatings.
The job is within the R&D organization, preferably based in Hempel HQ (Copenhagen, Denmark) but other locations in Europe can be considered as well where we have Hempel office/R&D Centre.
Technical expert within cargo and/or newbuilding
As a person we imaging that you have the following qualifications:
- Technical degree such as Chemistry/Engineering or alternatively proven technical/field experience.
- Real-life experience in Marine including e.g. FROSIO or NACE certificates
- Valuable previous experience related to the subject matter (Silicone coatings)
- Demonstrated experience, independence and self-confidence in dealing with technical issues and risk management decisions
- Customer service oriented and continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
