Here at Volocopter, we are the pioneers of electric air taxis (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft - eVTOLs). Job DescriptionYour mission during this flight:
- Prepare optimal and efficient stress analysis of structural parts including classical analysis, Finite Element Analysis and hand calculations. Also engineering judgement.
- Very good knowledge analyzing lightweight materials and CFRP structures.
- Write/check full stress analysis reports.
- Ensure that the structure is certifiable by following worldwide accepted methods and state of the art stress analysis methods.
- Execute trade off studies to validate design solutions.
- Drawing reviews.
- Guiding and mentoring (technically) junior engineers.
- Support to testing activities all along the test pyramid and flight/ground test activities and non-conformity reports (NCR).
- Evaluate & challenge design concepts to deliver optimal structures to ensure safety, manufacturability, maintainability, inspectability etc.
Check in your professional skills:
- University degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical/Vehicle Engineering
- Minimum of 5-6 years in a Stress Engineer role in the aerospace professional environment including composite material experience.
- Knowledge on metal and composite material, manufacturing processes, testing and production deviations.
- Very good knowledge of aerospace requirements, standards and certification under CS-23, CS-25, CS-27, SC-VTOL
- Very Good knowledge of a typical structural analysis tools (preferably Patran/Nastran and Hyperworks pack) and PLM system (preferably Team Center).
- Ability to develop basic coding with VBA, python…
- Problem Solving skills, Teamwork, communication and negotiation skills
- Fluent in English language.
