Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Streaming Media Engineer to join our Dallas-based team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the design, development, and delivery of advanced media pipeline systems for consumer electronic platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to architect robust solutions for video streaming, digital rights management, and secure media delivery — making a direct impact on the quality of experience for millions of end users.
Key Responsibilities
Architect & Design: Lead the architecture and design of scalable media pipeline stacks for consumer electronic devices.
Prototyping & Development: Drive prototyping efforts and own end-to-end software development and implementation planning.
Streaming Technologies: Build and optimize solutions for video streaming protocols including DASH, HLS, and Progressive Download.
DRM & Secure Media: Implement and maintain Digital Rights Management integrations (Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay) and secure media pipeline components.
Audio/Video Formats: Develop support for industry-standard A/V formats including H.264, HEVC, mp4, CMAF, MPEG2-TS, HDR, and Dolby Vision.
Media Frameworks: Extend and optimize media frameworks such as GStreamer and FFmpeg for platform-specific requirements.
Multi-threaded Systems: Design and implement multi-threaded and inter-process communication (IPC) architectures for high-performance media processing.
Code Quality: Conduct thorough code reviews and develop comprehensive unit tests to maintain engineering excellence.
Collaboration: Partner with product, QA, and platform teams to define requirements and deliver reliable, production-grade software.
Required Qualifications
6+ years of professional experience in architecture & design, prototyping, software development, code review, and unit testing for consumer electronic devices.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electronics, or an equivalent field.
Proficient in C, C++/C++11, JavaScript, and JSON — with a strong command of systems-level programming.
Hands-on experience developing media pipeline stacks for embedded or consumer platforms.
Deep knowledge of video streaming technologies: DASH, HLS, Progressive Download, and related protocols.
Experience with DRM systems: Widevine, PlayReady, and/or FairPlay, including secure media pipeline implementation.
Strong A/V format expertise: H.264, HEVC, mp4, CMAF, MPEG2-TS, HDR, Dolby Vision, and related standards.
Proven use of media frameworks such as GStreamer and FFmpeg in production environments.
Multi-threaded programming expertise including IPC patterns and concurrent system design.

Salary Range
$110,000 - $125,000
