Senior Strategic Communications Specialist
Position Summary
The Senior Strategic Communications Specialist is responsible for leading the development, coordination, and editing of diverse communication materials, with a primary focus on crafting impactful speeches for various audiences and occasions. This role includes advising senior executives on speech delivery, ensuring content precision, mentoring junior staff on speechwriting techniques, and leveraging tools such as the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite for enhanced content presentation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the development, preparation, production, and editing of a range of communication products, including intelligence reports, strategy documents, talking points, and speeches.
- Prepare assignments based on input from subject matter experts to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Mentor and train junior staff in effective speechwriting and communication techniques.
- Leverage Adobe Creative Cloud Suite to design and create visually compelling content.
- Utilize client request management tools to provide efficient, high-quality customer support for communication requests.
- Research, proofread, edit, write, revise, and format materials for hardcopy, electronic publication, and multiple dissemination platforms.
- Draft and edit content across a variety of formats, including talking points, speeches, newsletters, websites, and other communication products.
- Serve as the primary author for fact sheets, pamphlets, articles, email messages, and other relevant communication products.
- Independently plan, execute, and report on tasks, ensuring timely delivery.
- Prepare and edit speeches or scripts for senior executives, including live and recorded deliveries, testimonies, and statements for the Congressional Record.
- Revise written materials to ensure consistency in style, grammar, organization, and clarity, balancing complex ideas with accessible language.
- Ensure all communication products adhere to tradecraft and publication standards.
- Provide guidance and coaching to leadership on speech delivery techniques for optimal audience engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current TS/SCI Clearance
- Current Counterintelligence Polygraph
- Education: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 18 years of experience or Master's Degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Teams, SharePoint, and Adobe Creative Suite is highly desired.
Salary Range
$119,000 - $124,000
This pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of specific compensation or salary.
