Our mobile services encompass roadside assistance, battery replacement, alternator and starter motor replacement, and vehicle inspections.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated Senior Storeman to create value for Club Assist by delivering a first-class distribution service to our customer base within the state. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently processing orders to meet delivery schedules, as both RACQ and Atomic customers depend on our products arriving on time and in full.
Duties and Responsibilities
Learn all roles within the warehouse and distribution functions to provide flexible support as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
Exhibit leadership, motivating and training all warehouse employees on key processes and tasks.
Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operations for warehouse staff.
Manage stock control, ensuring adherence to processes for inbound and outbound goods, and conducting necessary checks.
Accurately pick battery orders as per picking slips.
Prepare individual orders, date-stamping batteries and labeling them with their destination.
Report any safety hazards to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment, managing damaged or leaking batteries appropriately.
Ensure correct placement of newly delivered stock on the racking system.
Efficiently handle scrap, warranties, rotated, and damaged stock.
Process scrap and warranty batteries, completing all necessary documentation.
Follow SOPs for battery acid spill cleanup.
Collaborate with delivery drivers to ensure secure and clean storage sites.
Dispose of delivery waste properly.
Maintain vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and equipment in clean and serviced condition.
Conduct end-of-month stocktakes and assist the Warehouse Supervisor as needed.
Charge batteries not meeting required specifications and ensure products are accurately labeled.
Verify placards and dangerous goods signage before deliveries.
Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (COR) for all outbound deliveries.
Promptly report performance issues and damages to Club Assist property.
Monitor warehouse supplies and consumables, communicating shortages to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Further Responsibilities
Actively contribute ideas to improve Health and Safety performance.
Adhere to OH&S legislation, including participation in internal audits as required.
Report all accidents, incidents, and near-misses immediately and assist with investigations and corrective actions.
Support operational efficiency by performing additional duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.
Minimum Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Class “C” Driver License
Forklift License
Strong Customer Service Skills
Teamwork and collaboration abilities
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
Desirable Qualities and Competencies
Previous experience or knowledge of battery technology
