This Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing key accounting and financial reporting functions for the bank, ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial statements. The role leads the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, supports regulatory and SEC reporting, manages fixed assets, investments, and ensures compliance with internal controls, FDIC requirements, and audit standards.
Responsibilities Include
- Review the preparation and posting of general ledger entries.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
- Prepare and review supporting schedules and reconciliations for financial statement accounts.
- Perform financial analysis and investigate account variances, identifying trends and making corrections when needed.
- Ensure compliance with SOX-equivalent controls, FDIC requirements, internal control standards, and audit recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, efficiency, and automation.
- Maintain organized accounting documentation and supporting schedules to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and/or review schedules supporting Call Reports, FR Y filings, regulatory reporting.
- Maintain fixed assets and prepaid expense schedules, including depreciation and amortization calculations.
- Research accounting guidance and recommend appropriate treatment for non-routine transactions.
- File, track and process payments for property taxes.
- Assist in the preparation of SEC filings to include 10-Qs and 10-Ks.
- Process transactions, maintain, and reconcile the Bank’s Investment Portfolio and Fixed Assets system.
- Maintain the Bank’s accounting for Executive and Director compensation and benefits.
- Assist with the annual budget process.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field required
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting required
- Experience in banking or a related field is highly preferred
- Experience as a senior accountant highly preferred
- Experience preparing or supporting Call Reports and other regulatory bank filings
- Experience preparing GAAP financial statements and financial disclosures
- Experience with general ledger and financial reporting systems
- Experience supporting internal and external audits
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, preferably including knowledge of PivotTables, Look-Up functions, and complex formulas
- Knowledge of MS Access or similar database programs a plus
- Experience writing SQL queries a plus
- Experience writing MS Office Macros or experience using VBA programming language a plus

Pay Range (Hourly): $77,000- $109,000 annually
