Senior SQL DBA – This is an onsite role in Washington, DC for a federal law enforcement agency
- Manages and supports SQL Server databases for reliability, performance, and security.
- Performs installation, configuration, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
- Works with project teams to meet database requirements.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of database administration, of which 5+ years with SQL Server in enterprise production environments
- Hands-on ownership of backup and restore, not only monitoring
Resume should clearly state the following:
- Current or recent DBA work on USCP systems for the current contractor.
- SQL Server administration in a federal or law enforcement environment with security controls and audits.
- High availability (Always On availability groups, failover clustering) and tested disaster recovery restores.
- Azure SQL Managed Instance or Azure SQL Database. The Azure position in this contract uses Managed Instance.
- Query and index tuning with before/after numbers, and PowerShell automation of DBA tasks.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of database administration experience
- 5+ years of SQL Server experience in enterprise production environments
- Hands-on ownership of database backup and restore
- Current or recent DBA work on USCP systems for the current contractor
- SQL Server administration in a federal or law enforcement environment with security controls and audits
- High availability experience with Always On availability groups and failover clustering
- Tested disaster recovery restores
- Azure SQL Managed Instance or Azure SQL Database experience
- Query and index tuning with before-and-after performance metrics
- PowerShell automation of DBA tasks
