What is a Solutions Engineer for C Spire? The Solutions Engineer plays a pivotal role as the foremost technical expert supporting our sales team. Their core responsibilities involve collaborating closely with the sales team and prospective clients to discern technical requirements. They are instrumental in conceptualizing and crafting a sophisticated managed cloud and/or network design tailored to meet the specific needs outlined in the solution presented to potential clients. The Solutions Engineer ensures the seamless translation of all necessary technical details into a comprehensive order, illustrated through solution specifications and topology diagrams.
Beyond this, the Solutions Engineer is tasked with conducting thorough pre-sales site surveys, offering a critical component in the assessment process. Furthermore, they assist in training both the sales and customer service teams on our products, demonstrating a commitment to knowledge dissemination within the organization.

Responsibilities:

Solutions Engineer – Salary: $60,000 - $84,000 + Bonuses/Commissions

Solutions Engineer Position: Seeking candidates with 1-3 years of experience in the IT or Telecom industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage in straightforward managed cloud, network, DIA, and SBI deals.
• Collaborate with customers and prospects to discern needs, goals, and identify challenges.
• Conduct pre-sales and/or post-sales site surveys to ensure a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements.
• Work closely and efficiently with the sales team to develop tailored customer solutions.
• Provide technical sales support and showcase product features at customer/prospect sites.
• Assist in product training for the sales and customer service teams, collaborating with senior Solutions Engineer resources.
• Develop and sustain effective communication and relationships with internal teams and clients.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 1-3 years of telecommunications or IT related work experience required.
• Basic understanding of compute infrastructure, virtualization, networking, routing, and switching.
• Proficient in personal computer skills, including Windows, Excel, Word, Visio, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp technical products or services and effectively convey their value.
• Versatile relationship skills to foster and maintain relationships within our account base.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, enabling effective management of multiple projects.

Solutions Engineer II – Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 + Bonuses/Commissions

Solutoins Engineer II Position: Seeking candidates with 3-5 years of experience in the Telecom industry or related IT field.

In addition to the responsibilities of a Solutions Engineer, the SEII role involves:

• Tackling more intricate DIA’s, Wi-Fi, Voice Solutions, and Small to medium multi-site network solutions.
• Demonstrating expertise in network design, encompassing Ethernet, fiber optics, MPLS, Alcatel-Lucent TIMOS, TCP/IP, VoIP, SIP, and Wi-Fi.
• Bringing experience in Managed & Cloud Services, coupled with a solid understanding of SD-WAN.
• Possessing general network experience and familiarity with routing protocols (BGP, Static Routes, EIGRP, OSPF, etc.).
• Participating in occasional telecom conferences to represent C Spire and engage in business meetings with partners.
• Comprehending the lifecycle of presales and post-sales for our product set.
• Contributing to the facilitation of new product development and fostering the growth of other team members within the solutions engineering team.

Senior Solutions Engineer - Salary: $100,000  - above + Bonuses/Commissions

Senior Solutions Engineer Position: Seeking candidates with 5+ years of experience in the Telecom industry or related IT field.

In addition to the responsibilities of a Solutions Engineer, the Senior Solutions Engineer role entails:

• Extensive experience in Managed & Cloud Services, showcasing a profound understanding of Cloud, SaaS, Financial, and Enterprise verticals.
• Expertise with Dell, VMWare, and HAAS, demonstrating proficiency in advanced technologies.
• Engagement with highly complex DIA’s, Wi-Fi, Voice Solutions, and medium to large multi-site network solutions.
• Hands-on experience in designing SD-WAN solutions, reflecting an in-depth knowledge of this evolving technology.
• Proficiency in understanding and designing complex VoIP solutions, especially in the context of Enterprise SIP.
• Mastery of advanced network design, covering Ethernet, fiber optics, MPLS, Alcatel-Lucent TIMOS, TCP/IP, VoIP, SIP, and Wi-Fi.
• Advanced network experience, with comprehensive knowledge of most routing protocols (BGP, Static Routes, EIGRP, OSPF, etc.).
