The ideal individual for this position is creative, self-directed, and passionate about supporting and maintaining Security Products. You'll engage in every development phase to ensure an interactive and useful web application. You'll be a part of developing and articulating requirements and product visions through conceptualization, communicating and implementation.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Creating new features as well as enhancing existing features
• Optimizing existing functionality, from conception and design through to testing and deployment
• Working on projects that make our network more stable, faster, and more secure
• Collaborating with development and system QA teams to create regression tests for new software changes.
• Partnering with our operations teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex problem escalations for our customers

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent experience
• Be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a security clearance
• Have expertise designing and developing web applications or data pipelines using Java or Scala or TypeScript
• Have Query language experience like SQL for reporting and data analysis
• Have experience on web application development, networking, cloud and distributed computing environments
• Have working knowledge with Linux or UNIX operating systems
• Able to pay meticulous attention to detail and possess excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $121,400 - $218,600/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
