We are a growing, high-volume automotive parts distribution business based in Garland, Texas. We specialize in efficient wholesale and eCommerce parts supply to keep vehicles moving. Our tech stack powers critical operations like inventory management, order processing, supplier integrations, and data-driven decision-making. We're looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to own and evolve our Python-based systems in a collaborative, impact-heavy environment.
The Role
As our Senior Software Engineer (primarily Python), you'll play a key leadership role in a small team—designing, building, and maintaining reliable, scalable systems that handle high-volume transactions and data flows. This is a hybrid position with regular on-site presence in Garland, combined with remote work options.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize Python-based applications and scripts for core business needs (inventory tracking, order automation, ERP/WMS integrations, data pipelines, API development).
- Lead technical projects from requirements to deployment, including architecture decisions and code reviews.
- Mentor junior developers and collaborate closely with operations/supply chain teams to translate business needs into robust software solutions.
- Ensure code quality, performance, security, and scalability for high-throughput environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly to minimize downtime.
- Contribute to process improvements and best practices in a small-team setting.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong expertise in Python (backend focus).
- Experience with Python frameworks/libraries (e.g., FastAPI/ Litestar, Pandas, SQLAlchemy) and relational databases (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Proven track record building/maintaining scalable systems for data-heavy or transaction-intensive applications (supply chain, inventory, e-commerce, distribution, or similar a big plus).
- Some leadership experience: guiding projects, mentoring others, owning technical direction in small-to-mid teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently while collaborating closely.
- US citizenship required (we are not able to sponsor H-1B or other visas at this time).
- Must live within commuting distance to Garland, TX (e.g., DFW metro area; reliable hybrid attendance required).
- Bonus: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ/Kafka), ERP integrations (NetSuite, SAP), or supply chain tools.
