About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Software Development Engineer (SDE) with a strong and diverse technical background. As a senior developer, you consistently deliver high-quality solutions, tackle complex challenges, and apply best practices and modern technologies. You collaborate closely with your team to design and build robust, scalable, and maintainable software—avoiding short-term fixes in favor of long-term value.

About the Team

The Embedded Finance team at FIS is building the foundational infrastructure to deliver financial services—such as accounts, payments, cards, and expense management—directly within third-party software platforms. Leveraging cloud technologies like AWS and Azure, and programming languages including Java and Python, we’re creating API-first, embeddable solutions supported by developer-friendly tools, modern ledgers, operational consoles, and real-time observability. Our goal is to enable seamless integration of banking capabilities without the need for heavy upfront investment or long development cycles.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug software enhancements and new products for local, networked, or internet-based applications.
• Collaborate with product managers and users to define system requirements and enhancements.
• Participate in design discussions and translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Document development processes and support installation and maintenance procedures.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of professional software development experience in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong foundation in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving.
• Proven experience building and delivering complex, scalable software systems.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and high-performance architectures.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for experimentation, learning, and execution.
