About the role
We are seeking an experienced software engineer with experience in building enterprise-grade, cloud-native software systems. In this role, you’ll design, ship, and operate services, customer applications, and APIs that power our AI decision-making platform, while shaping engineering foundation and culture at an early-stage, high-growth startup at the frontier of enterprise GenAI applications. This is a generalist role requiring knowledge and hands-on experience in the end-to-end software development lifecycle.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and operate a scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure.
- Design, build, and deploy AI-enabled software systems, including services, APIs, and customer applications.
- Develop applications and pipelines leveraging LLMs and modern agentic frameworks and tooling.
- Leverage large-scale datasets for advanced analytics.
- Contribute to engineering best practices across security, compliance, and software quality.
- Collaborate with other engineers and cross-functionally with product and data science experts to execute on the product roadmap.
- Build monitoring and observability into the infrastructure and all software components.
What are we looking for
- Experience: 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in the industry with 2+ years in small companies or startups.
- Working style: collaborative and organized with a strong sense of end-to-end ownership.
- Systems: proven track record in designing, developing, and operating cloud-native micro-services systems on AWS or GCP.
- Backend services: high level of proficiency in Python, Docker, FastAPI, container orchestration like AWS ECS & EKS, and/or GKE.
- Data stores: relational databases (specifically PostgreSQL). Experience with graph databases (e.g., Neo4J, AWS Neptune) and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Chroma) is a big plus
- Generative AI: Knowledge of LLMs and GenAI frameworks (LangChain, LangSmith, LangGraph, AutoGen, MCP, etc.). Hands-on experience is a big plus.
- Frontend: experience with React, JavaScript, and Vite is a big plus.
- Infrastructure & Ops: experience in leveraging cloud environments and services for development and operation, strong in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
- Security & Compliance: experience in secure software development and familiar with SOC2 or regulated software development environments.
- Education: BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related scientific field. Additional hands-on certificates are great to have.
- Domain Knowledge: familiarity with biopharma, biotech, or life sciences environments is a plus.
