About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with leadership flair to join our founding team and play a pivotal, hands-on role in shaping the current and future capabilities of Sully.ai’s product. You’ll work closely with the co-founders to build core components, expand the engineering team, and elevate our AI infrastructure to the next level. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership environments and wants to help define the foundation of a category-defining product.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and implement scalable agentic AI systems that power Sully.ai’s core functionality.
Design and develop both frontend and backend systems with strong product intuition and high engineering standards.
Build APIs with complete documentation to drive integrations and product expansion.
Implement and manage robust security and data protection measures across all layers of the stack.
Lead and mentor engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability.
Hard Requirements
Proven experience architecting and deploying agentic AI systems in production.
Deep expertise in React and Python, with full-stack experience across modern web stacks.
Strong background in LLM integration, fine-tuning, and evaluation in real-world applications.
Experience with both NoSQL and SQL databases, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Demonstrated success in fast-paced startup environments and distributed global teams.
Our Required Stack
Frontend: ReactJS
Backend: Node.js/Express.js
Databases: NoSQL and SQL
DevOps: CI/CD pipelines, cloud services (GCP, Azure, AWS)
AI: Experience with Applied GenAI, LLMOps, and LLM evaluations
Nice-to-Have
Experience with one or more agentic frameworks (e.g., AutoGen, LangChain, CrewAI).
Familiarity with Applied GenAI, LLMOps, and evaluation pipelines.
Background in healthcare, ML systems, or high-compliance environments (HIPAA, SOC2).
First-Month Focus
Build and ship critical backend and frontend improvements for Sully.ai’s production systems.
Establish and document best practices for scalable agentic architecture.
Partner with co-founders to plan the next wave of product and infrastructure expansion.
Success OKRs (90 Days)
Deliver 2+ high-impact product features that leverage LLMs in production.
Reduce API latency and increase system reliability by measurable performance targets.
Hire and onboard first engineering hires to scale the product roadmap efficiently.
