Senior Software Engineer

Satoshi Energy is at the forefront of energy innovation, championing the colocation of BTC, AI, and HPC data centers with renewable energy generation. As a first mover in 2018, we have nearly 500 MWs of data centers operating, with an additional 3 GWs of data center projects under development or advisory. We are actively expanding our footprint as our customers push us to grow!

Building on learnings from our development business, we are pursuing an even larger opportunity – fast, accurate, and transparent energy transactions. Energy transactions today are slow, opaque, and inefficient - increasing risk and cost between buyers and sellers. Our software solution, Bitcurrent, enables energy transactions to happen automatically, 24/7, with digital money.

Our team brings deep expertise across electric power markets, project development, and software development, positioning us as trusted experts in this rapidly evolving market, and now we’re seeking to add a Senior Software Engineer. Your goal will be to deliver value to our customers, implementing solutions across the stack by writing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code, backend code, and frontend code. Additionally, you will work across the organization to help us be forward thinking and anticipate customer needs. As we grow, you will be instrumental in helping to build the engineering team and build a more decentralized and sustainable future.

• Work alongside fellow engineers and designers to architect and build novel bitcoin based financial transactions for the energy industry.
• Be an expert at creating, managing, and analyzing data. This includes generating complex ETL pipelines, integrating logging and caching systems, and working effectively with databases and other data stores. 
• Design and develop core logic features and new functionality in a scalable and performant fashion covering everything from cloud infrastructure to front-end.
• Work effectively within our software stack to create smooth user experiences that delight our customers.
• Collaborate and diligently communicate with the sales, development, and operations teams to determine the needs of a project.
• Assist with on-call technical support and site reliability, addressing code-level issues in real-time production environments. 
• Stay up-to-date with technology to push the envelope and improve our products.

• Demonstrated expert understanding of SQL (PostgreSQL), Python, and Docker.
• Practical experience with TypeScript, React, GraphQL, CSS, and Next.js.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud, AWS.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code solutions such as Pulumi or Terraform.
• Demonstrable track record of building and maintaining mission critical back-end systems, data processing pipelines, and user interfaces for software applications.
• Self-motivated with the flexibility and willingness to work on various initiatives simultaneously. 
• Pushes the boundaries of what is possible (first principles thinker) and takes initiative on new tasks.

• Interest in bitcoin and energy markets.  
• Technical knowledge of bitcoin and lightning network protocols is a strong bonus.
• Technical proficiency with machine learning and artificial intelligence for both developer productivity and product applications
• Expert understanding of multiple programming languages such as Go, Rust, and C++.
• Knowledge of security best practices, applied cryptography, and performance trade-offs.
