Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Software Development, the Senior Software Engineer is responsible for overseeing the implementation of Software artifacts and strategy, as well as participating in software configuration management and software release management. Specific areas of responsibility include Web Software Applications, Web User Interfaces, APIs, Infrastructure Connectivity, Database Connectivity and Data Quality, Cloud Hosting Connectivity, and Integrations.
This is a hybrid position located in Rochester, NY.
Job Description:
- Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; and following the software development lifecycle.
- Determines operational feasibility of software solutions by evaluating analysis, problem definitions, requirements, proposed solutions, and solution development.
- Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
- Supports and develops software engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.
- Uses industry knowledge of Software as a Service companies to architect and deliver Product solutions.
- Uses industry knowledge of Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google) to architect and deliver Product solutions.
- Uses industry knowledge of Software Development and Engineering to architect and deliver Product solutions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Facilitates and participates in communication between staff, management, vendors, and other resources within the organization.
- Participates in the recruitment process for new talent.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 8 years of related experience or training, preferably in an agile software environment.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in developing solutions based on standard software architectures.
- Ability to program for Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and identify software anomalies.
- Knowledge of software development and engineering concepts and methodologies
- Detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills, and ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
COMPENSATION
Salary range of 90-120k annually
