Our client is a fast-growing software company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Build and ship intelligent software features and the backend services that support them, owning projects from early discovery through production release. You will partner closely with founders and cross-functional colleagues in a small, high-ownership engineering team.
What you'll do
- Develop AI-driven automation features using Python.
- Design and maintain backend services, including data models, API endpoints and data storage.
- Take full ownership of product areas, collaborating with design, commercial colleagues and end users to shape and deliver solutions.
- Create evaluation sets, tracing and monitoring to measure how well AI features perform.
- Integrate with third-party business systems and coordinate communication between backend and AI services.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- Early-employee experience at a startup, or 5+ years of experience at a large technology company.
- Background in finance or another regulated, sensitive-data industry.
- Practical experience shipping user-facing AI products, as opposed to model training or research work.
- Strong backend engineering skills, including data modeling and API design, with end-to-end ownership.
- Familiarity with a modern backend language such as Python or TypeScript.
- Ability to scope problems, engage stakeholders and ship to production independently.
- Ability to work on-site in New York five days a week.

- Base salary: USD 150,000 to 250,000 per year
