About the Role

We’re looking for passionate, empathetic, and ambitious engineers who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of the founding team as we design, build and launch the first comprehensive digital solution for GI (and expanding to more conditions) that delights users and delivers real, tangible results for patients. You’ll report to our Head of Engineering.

In this role, you will
  • Partner with the founding team to develop and execute Ayble’s technical roadmap.

  • Help us stay on the cutting edge, bringing innovative ideas into our product, and incorporating AI where it makes sense to enhance our product features.

  • Add new features to our web and mobile apps, including contributing to our API, and integrations with third-party vendors, enterprise clients and others.

  • Adopt and integrate infrastructure (AWS, databases, etc) to add product functionality dedicated to designing services for operability and observability.

  • Develop, launch and monitor internal planning, grooming & iterations process to inform our progress along our technology roadmap.

  • Help guide strategic business decisions from a technological standpoint, focused on scalability, security (HIPAA, SOC2) and compliance requirements.

  • Work with our Head of Data Science to build our tool for scale, including database architecture and AI/ML infrastructure.

Who we’re looking for

  • 6+ years of professional experience as a software engineer

  • Experience with AI coding tools to build more efficient processes

  • Strong understanding of LLM technology and ability to leverage LLMs in product features.

  • Nimble, agile, self-starter, with a growth mindset

  • Exemplary communication, project management, and teamwork skills; able to explain solutions to non-technical teammates

  • Experience with API integrations

  • Experience using AWS (or GCP) and infrastructure as a service to build cloud native applications

  • Experience with our stack: React, React Native, Python, PostgreSQL

  • Technologies we use: FastAPI, Arq, Redis, NumPy, SciPy, experience in at least one Cloud Provider between Amazon AWS or Google Cloud, modern tooling (Docker, Github, Lambda/Cloud Functions)

Pluses:

  • Experience with medical, healthcare and/or population health data. Bonus for familiarity with OHDSI, HL7, FHIR and/or other healthcare data standards

  • Experience working in a HIPAA regulated environment and supporting data security and privacy controls

  • Passionate about improving healthcare and creating solutions for patients

  • Experience with API integrations such as with communications providers (e.g., Intercom), health devices (e.g., Apple Watch, Fitbit), payment (e.g., Stripe) and other apps
