As a Senior Developer at Resideo, you’ll help shape the next generation of connected security and smart-building experiences. You’ll lead the development of security video products and help integrate them with the broader Resideo ecosystem, including security panels, thermostats, water-leak detectors, and other connected devices.
Your work will enable devices to share meaningful information, respond to changing conditions, and work together intelligently. You’ll help create a more contextual home and business, improving awareness, safety, comfort, and peace of mind while helping customers protect what matters most.
This role is an opportunity to define the technical foundation of Resideo’s connected platform and help make the contextual home and business a practical reality.
JOB DUTIES:
Design, document, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve high quality, commercially successful software products
Assist in facilitating good communication and actively contribute to building a high-performance team
Technical leadership: define architecture, make design decisions, and guide engineering standards.
Take a platform approach, writing quality source code to enable a wide range of products to be built across a single code base
Video expertise: work with live streaming, recording, event detection, device connectivity, and video data at scale.
Platform integration: design reliable event-driven interactions between cameras and other IOT devices.
Security and privacy: protect customer data, device access, video feeds, and cloud services.
Reliability: build highly available, observable systems with strong performance and recovery characteristics.
Cross-functional leadership: partner with product, UX, firmware, cloud, and security teams to turn concepts into customer experiences.
Mentorship: raise the capability of other developers through coaching, reviews, and technical direction.
Customer impact: connect the technical work to Resideo's purpose of helping people protect what matters most.
Apply strong Agile/Scrum practices by contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives, while helping the team continuously improve how it delivers firmware.
Travel to US and Asia as needed
YOU MUST HAVE:
5+ years of software development experience
3+ years of object-oriented programming experience using C/C++
3+ years of Linux experience (ideally with embedded Linux - we use Yocto)
Embedded product development experience
