Job Description
In this role, you will architect and implement backend capabilities that drive our global, high-scale cloud infrastructure services. This position transcends standard backend development and pure DevOps; you will operate at the intersection of software engineering, distributed systems, and production reliability, maintaining full ownership of services from initial design through observability and technical support. Your work will focus on complex challenges in resiliency, asynchronous workflows, automation, and system scalability. We value engineers with deep technical fundamentals who are eager to adapt to evolving architectures, new languages, and emerging cloud-native technologies.
• Build, test, deploy, and maintain backend services and platform capabilities.
• Develop and integrate APIs using established service and architecture patterns.
• Work with relational data stores and contribute to reliable data access and service integration patterns.
• Contribute to event-driven and asynchronous workflows, including message-based processing and background jobs.
• Run and support services across cloud and platform environments, including managed cloud services, containers, virtual machines, and other runtime models.
• Use CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code workflows to deliver changes safely and repeatably.
• Use logs, metrics, and traces to understand application behavior and diagnose production issues.
• Participate in technical design discussions, ADRs, RFCs, and code reviews, asking questions and contributing practical implementation feedback.
• Own defined areas of work and collaborate with more experienced engineers on broader architectural or cross-team decisions.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools to speed up development, improve testing, explore codebases, and investigate technical problems.

Distributed Systems & Architecture: You should understand the fundamentals of distributed systems and have practical exposure to event-driven systems, asynchronous processing, and scalability.
DevOps & Observability: Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and monitoring using logs and metrics to diagnose issues.
Security: Familiarity with Identity and Access Management, authentication/authorization fundamentals, and basic cloud security practices.
Engineering Practices: Application of sound engineering practices like SOLID principles, automated testing, and technical documentation.
AI-Assisted Engineering: Thoughtful use of modern AI tools to accelerate implementation, explore code, and support debugging while maintaining technical ownership.
Languages & Runtimes: Go, PHP, Ruby, Python.
Cloud Services: GCP, AWS, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, GKE, EC2, S3.
