As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role across all three tracks. Rather than being confined to a single domain, you will design, build, and deploy software components spanning data infrastructure, cloud analytics, and advanced AI systems. The ideal candidate is a versatile technical leader who can move fluidly between optimizing data extraction layers, building intelligent BI interfaces, and architecting scalable generative AI workflows.
Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using modern cloud-native tooling
• Contribute to the modernization of Akamai's data stack — migrating legacy systems, improving reliability, and establishing engineering best practices
• Design and deploy AI/ML solutions to automate and optimize core business workflows, turning enterprise data into operational intelligence
• Partner with BI and analytics teams to ensure data models are well-designed, documented, and trusted
• Drive adoption of analytics engineering best practices across the organization
• Prototype, build, and productionize GenAI and ML-powered workflows and internal tools
• Work cross-functionally with product and platform teams to identify and deliver high-value AI use cases
• Help define engineering standards for responsible, observable, and scalable AI in production
What You Bring
• Intellectual curiosity, a proactive bias for action, and a track record of solving complex problems in ambiguous environments
• Deep understanding of business processes and data lifecycles
• Strong foundation in data architecture and pipeline design
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and enterprise reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Demonstrated experience applying GenAI & AI/ML to drive measurable improvements in business processes
• Strong communication skills — able to translate complex technical roadmaps into clear direction for business stakeholders
