We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join the Cato DataSec team. In this critical role, you will join a team of experienced engineers building the next generation of Cato’s Data Security platform. You will design and develop large-scale backend systems that process massive amounts of security data, build data pipelines, and enable advanced analytics and AI-driven security capabilities.
Responsibilities- Design and develop scalable backend services and data-intensive applications.
- Build and maintain large-scale data pipelines that process and analyze massive volumes of security data.
- Own features end-to-end, from architecture and backend implementation to production deployment.
- Work closely with Product Management, Research, Data Science, SOC, NOC, and Automation teams to deliver new capabilities.
- Design and implement enterprise-grade platform solutions with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Research and adopt new technologies to improve data processing, analytics, and AI-driven security products.
- Collaborate with multiple engineering teams across the organization.
- 6+ years of backend development experience using Java (Go is a plus).
- Strong experience building high-scale SaaS microservices running in production.
- Experience designing and developing data-intensive backend systems, including large-scale data processing or data pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.).
- Experience working with distributed systems and high-volume data processing.
- Experience with CI/CD and automated testing methodologies.
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Strong ownership, excellent communication skills, fast learner, and passionate about solving complex engineering challenges.
- Experience with Data Engineering technologies (Kafka, Spark, Airflow, Flink or similar).
- Experience working on large-scale analytics, monitoring, or data platforms.
- Experience with AWS and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience designing or developing security products.
- Experience working with AI/ML infrastructure or integrating AI-driven capabilities into backend systems.
Skills Required
- 6+ years of backend development experience using Java
- Strong experience building high-scale SaaS microservices running in production
- Experience designing and developing data-intensive backend systems, including large-scale data processing or data pipelines
