Who Are We?

XNRGY Climate Systems is a North American leader in sustainable HVAC solutions and advanced manufacturing of custom air treatment systems. We design and manufacture energy-efficient climate systems for applications including data centers, healthcare facilities, industrial buildings, and other mission-critical environments.

Position Overview

The Senior Software Engineer, Selection Engine & CPQ builds the software behind how we select, configure, price, and deliver cutting-edge chiller and data center cooling technologies. Based in Mesa, AZ and reporting to the Manager, CPQ Tools & Selection Software, this role turns engineering models and product data into reliable commercial selections across chillers, CRAHs, and fan coil walls.

This is a highly technical, hands-on role at the intersection of software and mechanical engineering. You’ll own the software that connects engineering models and test data to the downstream users who rely on it, while also establishing the Git-based development environment the team will build on.

An Overview of your Responsibilities!

  • Selection Engine: Develop the calculation engine for engineering models, numerical solutions, performance calculations, and product selection workflows.

  • Configuration & CPQ: Implement configuration, rules, constraints, pricing, and selection logic across complex product configurations.

  • Performance Data: Design and maintain performance databases, data models, versioning, validation, and traceability.

  • Engineering & Testing: Integrate test-stand data and tools for performance correlation, data validation, and model deployment.

  • Selection Process: Shape the user interface and workflows used by Sales and Applications, including validation, errors, warnings, and quote recall.

  • Technical Deliverables: Automate performance reports, submittals, equipment schedules, drawings, and other technical packages.

  • Systems Integration: Connect selection software with CRM, ERP, PLM/PDM, pricing, BOM, and related engineering systems.

  • Product Architecture: Create scalable software architecture that supports both bounded product configurations and highly modular product families.

  • Software Reliability: Establish testing, version control, release, deployment, and reproducibility practices for production-critical engineering software.

What you’ll need, among other things!

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.

  • 7+ years developing and maintaining production engineering, scientific, numerical, industrial, or other technically complex software.

  • Defensible fluency in C# and VB.NET, with the ability to build, extend, and modernize established calculation codebases.

  • Practical experience with numerical methods including iterative calculations, convergence, interpolation, optimization, or other engineering and scientific computation.

  • Strong SQL and relational database experience, including schema design, data modeling, migrations, indexing, and query optimization. Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL is highly valued.

  • Proficiency with Git, automated testing, code review, release management, and deployment, with a track record of building reliable production software.

  • Experience translating engineering specifications into software and collaborating directly with mechanical, applications, testing, and other technical teams.

  • Experience with product configuration, engineering selection software, or other software supporting complex engineered products.

  • Experience integrating software with test-data pipelines, ERP, CRM, PLM/PDM, or technical document generation systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, industrial equipment, manufacturing, energy systems, or other engineered products is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with automated technical document generation, including LaTeX, templated PDF pipelines, or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with refrigerant property libraries such as CoolProp or REFPROP.

  • Exposure to ASHRAE Standard 205 / SSPC 205 data exchange formats.

Why Choose XNRGY?

At XNRGY Climate Systems, you’ll be part of a fast-growing organization helping transform the climate systems industry through sustainability, innovation, and advanced manufacturing.

You’ll have the opportunity to lead and develop a growing Supplier Quality Engineering team, influence supplier performance and operational excellence, collaborate with talented cross-functional teams, and play an important role in supporting XNRGY’s continued growth.
