The Role
Tests smart meter applications and utility systems through functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing. Validates meter data, communications, billing workflows, and system reliability; designs and executes test cases; tracks defects; supports deployments and post-release validation; and reports quality status. Collaborates with developers, analysts, and operations teams to resolve issues. The role requires manual QA expertise, exposure to automation frameworks, utility or smart-metering knowledge, SQL-based data validation, and defect-tracking tools.

Responsibilities
- Analyze business and functional requirements for smart meter applications and systems.
- Prepare, review, and execute test cases and test scenarios.
- Perform Functional, System Integration, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Validate smart meter data, meter communication, and billing-related workflows.
- Identify, log, track, and verify defects using defect management tools.

Requirements
- Exposure to Test Automation frameworks , Java, Selenium , Playwright , BDD, Cucumber.
- Experience in Manual Testing and Quality Assurance.
- Knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Defect Life Cycle.
- Understanding of Smart Metering, AMI, Meter Data Management (MDM), or Utility domain.
- Experience in Test Case Design, Execution, and Defect Tracking.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation.
- Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar bug-tracking tools.
- Good analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Skills Required

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
