Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
The Maneuver Dominance team at Anduril develops operationally relevant, multi-asset autonomy. We are focused on making large groups of autonomous systems work effectively together, with a particular emphasis on larger, more capable unmanned aerial vehicles. Our team specializes in integrating advanced perception and autonomy algorithms into complex aerial platforms, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in autonomous flight and mission execution. We develop cutting-edge Computer Vision, Mapping and Autonomy algorithms to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers, particularly in challenging and dynamic environments where robust awareness is critical.
We are seeking an experienced State Estimation & Mapping Engineer with a strong background in robotics or aerial systems to join our growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. Anduril is developing software at the intersection of computer vision, sensor fusion, and machine learning. In this role you will be bringing together data from robots, cameras, LIDAR, and other sources into a single combined 3D operational map which enables both autonomous systems and end users to complete their missions with enhanced situational awareness. We develop cutting edge software for autonomous planning, navigation, and decision-making by having sensors and systems that work together to improve over time.
- Design and develop robust and efficient C++ or Rust software for real-time sensor fusion, state estimation, mapping, and tracking.
- Develop and implement advanced structure-from-motion and SLAM algorithms to create accurate 3D models from multiple sensor inputs.
- Integrate with path planning teams to enable autonomous navigation in complex, unstructured environments
- Design experiments, conduct data analysis and performance evaluation to validate and improve system capabilities.
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Work with vendors and government stakeholders to advance the state-of-the-art in perception and world modeling for autonomous aerial systems.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in estimation, localization and mapping technology.
