The role
We are looking for a Senior Graphics Engineer to join our team here in Hobart. You’ll join our rendering team building the next generation rendering and painting engine that drives the future of Procreate product and develop custom GPU technologies for the fastest 64-bit painting engine on iOS.
This role sits within the Product team and reports directly to the CTO, Michael Shaw. You’ll work directly with all members of the Product team, the CPO and CEO as well as members of the Product Care department.
What you'll do.
- Refining our graphics pipeline
- Contribute towards and refine our mission critical engine architecture
- Allocate resources and solve performance issues in novel and creative ways
- Develop next generation software that pushes the hardware to its limits in low-latency, real-time systems
- Work with our product designers, product owner and engineers to deliver industry-leading graphics experiences and functionality
- Extracting as much performance out of the hardware as possible. Your experiences in development for consoles or mobile devices will set you up for success in our engineering environment
Skills.
- CPU/GPU optimisation and debugging
- Familiarity with Apple’s Metal architecture
- Expert/specialist in C, C++, low-level programming
- Tool-based approach to profiling and debugging (RenderDoc)
- Understanding of a range of design patterns and data structures.
- Experience with relevant modern graphics APIs (Vulkan, Metal, DirectX11)
- Deep involvement with rendering pipeline development in a r- elated domain
- Mathematical background and familiarity with linear algebra and trigonometry
In 1-3 months, you will...
- Familiarise yourself with our team structure and workflows
- Complete the Procreate onboarding process and get to know your colleagues
- Build an understanding of our product development practices, processes and frameworks
- Begin to develop relationships with key stakeholders, team leaders and members of the executive team
In 3-6 months, you will...
- Take ownership of your first initiatives
- Provide support to our graphic engines
- Prepare and support the execution of core graphics features
- Establish relationships with inter-departmental key stakeholders
In 6-12 months, you will...
- Become familiar with Procreate's creative product portfolio
- Become an integral and contributing part of our graphics team
