Love building the plumbing that everything else runs on? Our engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to be the engineering glue between our software and our data. You'll build the streaming pipelines, integrations, and machine learning platform that turn raw market and asset data into the signals our traders and quants trade on. Our Lead Data Engineer owns how that data is modelled. You own how it moves, connects, and runs. If you like wiring systems together, moving data around reliably, and replacing manual workarounds with real automation, this role puts you right where software engineering meets data engineering.
What you'll do- Connect everything: build the integration software and streaming pipelines that pull market data and live asset telemetry into our data platform, fast and reliably.
- Own the real-time path: build the low-latency pipeline that gets live asset telemetry into trading fast enough to act on. You'll migrate the existing telemetry onto that pipeline, with no disruption to the teams already relying on the data.
- Kill the bottlenecks: move heavy analytical and reporting workloads off our operational trading systems, so live trading gets the headroom it needs.
- Build the model tooling: build and extend the machine learning platform our quants rely on, from test frameworks and backtesting harnesses to CI for models and health monitoring.
- Ship the platform: take the data platform from build-out to production-grade, backed by proper CI/CD, access control, and monitoring.
- Automate the glue: make onboarding a new data source a clean, self-service job of days.
- Cloud and Infrastructure as Code: build it all on AWS with Infrastructure as Code, ideally AWS CDK.
- A systems connector: you've spent years building the integrations, pipelines, and services that tie systems together, and you think in clean contracts between them.
- Data in motion: real experience moving data reliably at scale with streaming or event-driven tools (Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, or similar).
- A solid engineer: strong Python, clean code, thorough tests, and the Git and CI/CD habits that keep production reliable.
- AWS and IaC: hands-on AWS with Infrastructure as Code, ideally AWS CDK.
- Model tooling: you've built, or want to build, the tooling that gets models to production and keeps them healthy, from test and backtesting harnesses to CI for models and health monitoring. You build the platform our quants run on.
- A close collaborator: you work shoulder to shoulder with our Lead Data Engineer, and directly with quants and traders. You bring the engineering view on the best way to expose the data they need, and you own that side.
- Energy interest: a strong interest in the energy markets and a desire to deepen your business domain understanding.
- Languages: proficiency in English; Dutch is a plus but not required.
